Writing is largely about turning up. As with any other job, if you don’t turn up for work, nothing’s going to get done. So this year, I’ve decided it’s all about the showing up. And to help with that, I’m hosting a Tuesday evening writing sprint, a drop-in affair where any writer can show up – or not – to spend an hour focused simply on their writing. No matter what else is going on, that hour is just for the writer in us – everything else can wait.
So far, it’s working. I’ve turned up, and things have been getting done. Initially, I’m experimenting with just one slot: a Tuesday evening between 6pm and 7pm. I do intend to gradually increase the number of slots I commit to (I’m finding that I need an even bigger boot up the bum to keep my nose to the grindstone) and when I do, I’ll send out an email to let subscribers know.
If you would like to join in these sprints, all you need do is subscribe to my website and I’ll send you a zoom link, and then you can show up whenever you can. No charge, no commitment, a warm welcome if you can make it.
Let’s work together to get some words down on the page!
